Full time Mommy!

I am blessed to be considered a stay at home mommy! I am also a wife, a full time student, and I work the occasional shift at the hospital. BUT out of all these titles, Mommy is my favorite!!

I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom. Since I was a little girl, but I will tell you the truth I had no idea how hard it was going to be. Next to birthing Cru it is probably the hardest thing I have ever done.

With that being said it is the best and most rewarding thing I have ever done!! To know that The Lord has trusted me enough to send this little spirit to me is kind of surreal.

I do not get paid in dollars and cents, but oh boy do I ever get paid!!  In messy kisses, giant bear hugs, squeals and giggles, and that cry that happens when I leave the room without him.

I am not a perfect mom. Far from it. Sometimes I feel like I am not teaching him enough and times I feel like I don't let him learn enough on his own! But I have more love for this little human than anyone could ever have!! And I hope that when I fall short throughout his life that love will make up the difference!!

How could you not LOVE my job when I work with this little guy all day everyday!!

Continual happiness!

Life can be busy! With Josh and I both in school,  Josh working, and I am a full time momma who occasionally picks up a few shifts, life can sometimes seem overwhelming.

Well a couple weeks ago I was playing the pity me game, because I hardly ever get to see my husband, and school gets overwhelming because when Cru is awake NO studying gets done! And when do i have any time for just me?? Needless today I made the realization that something was missing! After some somewhat hard to take realizations I decided I needed to make a change! That I was relying on things to make me happy that could never make me happy, continually! If you are reading this you probably know that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. I know that with that comes many assumptions and misunderstandings. I am not perfect. I am far from it. It is not my place to tell someone how they need to live their lives I just know what I need and what is best for my little family!

My goal in this life is to strive to be like my Savior and Redeemer. I know that more often then not I fall incredibly short!  When I get focused on other things, and not  bad things, but other things such as school or housekeeping or how to be the best mom I can be, I forget that the most important thing is getting put on the back burner. My drive to become closer to my Savior. And when I start feeling like I did a few weeks ago it is usually because I haven't been praying, or studying scriptures or listening to modern day prophets teachings or even take care of my physical self!

So last week I decided I was really going to focus on that! I read scriptures or listened to a talk before I sat down to study for school. I listened to uplifting music while cleaning, and decided that at least 3 times a week I was going to take time for just me and exercise this amazing body I have been blessed with!
I want to tell you the amazing difference it has made! I was more patient with Cru and Josh! I was able to get all my school work done without stressing too much about it, and I was and am HAPPIER! Not just the instant gratification happiness, I feel peacefully happy!
I know that I have many flaws and have a long way to go but it is nice to know I am headed in the right direction.

I live an extremely blessed life! I have an amazing husband who is so dedicated and who provides for our family better than I could have ever hoped for! I have a very happy, busy, full of life son who brings me a joy that I didn't used to know existed! So I know I live a happy life! But if the Savior isn't involved, something is still missing!

The church is true. Coming closer to my Savior is the direction I want to continue on. I know it is my way to continual happiness!

This is what works for me!! I hope if your reading this you know or can find what works for you!

Our love story! Chapter 1

The first picture we ever took together! ❤

My love story.

For awhile now I have been wanting to write down Josh and I's story! It might not be anything special or out of the ordinary.... to you. To me, it is the greatest love story ever and the best part of it is that I am living in it right now.

I have an eternal love story that in all reality, is just beginning!

When Josh and I met the LAST thing I was looking for was marriage.
I wanted to date around and have some fun. So when my life long friend Tara and I talked about setting me up with her new brother in law who just got home from a mission (literally two weeks before)  I was ready for some fun.

We had the date set, February 24, 2010, and I was excited. We were meeting at Tara and Spencer's apartment. We showed up at the same time and said some really awkward hellos, knocked, and waited awkwardly for them to answer the door.

Then I saw him in the light (literally the light in the apartment) and I tell you what I was not disappointed. He was tall,  blonde, and handsome. A little bit skinner than anyone I had ever been attracted to but handsome at that.

After we said our hellos we went to deleta skating rink.
Never had I laughed or smiled so much on a single date!! I remember telling Tara that I had laughed and smiled more that night, then I had in the last 3 years!!

After skating we went back to Tara's and watched The Proposal.
Spence sat down.
Tara sat next to him.
I sat next to Tara.
Josh sat.... across the room!!
I had to giggle at that. I was ok with it! This had been fun casual date, I wasn't in love, sparks hadn't flown, we had just had a really good time.

The movie finished and we were headed out to the cars.
The goodbye.
Always the most awkward part of a first date right. Of course, me being female, I walked through every possible goodbye scenario. Will he hug me? Will he try to kiss me? Will he open my car door. I went through everything possible. Except for what he did.
About halfway between the cars he said,

"Well that was fun,(shook my hand) bye."

Then like that he was gone. I got in my car with a smile and a giggle and went home!
He didn't get my phone number so I didn't expect him to get ahold of me!! But I sure hoped he would!
I had a leftover smile from that night for days and days!
Two weeks passed.
And just as soon as that smile, the smile that no one had ever gotten out of me...
I got a text. I had no idea who it was because at that point I wasn't expecting to hear from him.  All it said was
'Is this Jenni?'
We got to talking, or texting I suppose, and my smile was back. Big as ever!
We went on another date with Tara and Spencer and their little sister Sadie! And again I had never laughed or smiled so much. Then our third night of "hanging out" we were at my apartment watching a movie. We were on the couch and I could tell he wanted to kiss me!! But I was going to make him work for it.
So I played the dumb girl game. The "I have no idea you want to kiss me" game.

Well I caved and we had our first kiss! That my friends is when sparks flew! I had moved from 'this is fun' to 'hard core crush'

{I don't even remember the date! How awful is that?!?}

After that first kiss not a day went by that we didn't see each other! Nights turned into mornings and we learned how to function on  two or three hours of sleep.

And that's it. That is our meeting-dating story! I will keep working in out dating-wedding story!

Baby steps right.

Man on man. I sure love you Joshua Simms! Love is fun! ❤❤

Back on the wagon...

It seems like everyone has a blog anymore! I had one before, but I can't figure out how to get into it. So I decided to start a new.
I am doing it more as a journal for myself but if you happen to be reading this I will promise you a couple things...

1: My English skills are AWFUL! So there will be a lot of grammatical and or spelling errors! Sorry, I know that can be annoying!

2: I will probably go long amounts of times between posts and there might be times I do 4 posts in a day!

3: I don't promise any deep or remarkable posts. I will post about my life. The happiness I feel. Maybe some of the trials I face. And definitely the joy I have in my family and the love I share with all of the amazing people around me!

My life is a beautiful mess and I wouldn't want it any other way! ❤
